Rockets, Astros set for new TV network

From the Houston Business Journal:

Rockets, Astros set for new TV network

Apparently, neither team was satisfied with FOX Sports Houston.

I wonder if Comcast SportsNet Houston will replace CSS (Comcast Sports Southwest)? The new network can air most programming currently carried by the latter.

I hope the new network will be available on Directv. The Astros can currently be seen on FSN Houston on Directv all over the state of Texas, and I think most of Louisiana.

All of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas (except Memphis DMA) and Eastern New Mexico for both the Astros and Rangers.

Since I live in the DFW area it's hard for me to judge how the folks in Houston like FSN for the Rockets and Astros. FSN has feeds for the DFW area, Houston, San Antonio, New Orleans and Oklahoma City. Though they will likely get rid of the Houston feed, they will still have the rights for the Rangers, Stars, Spurs, Hornets, and Thunder.

I have no complaints about the Astros or Rockets games on FSN. The PQ is excellent and I have no problems with the broadcast teams.

If they use the Rockets and Astros to lure people away from DirectTV, both teams will lose my patronage. There's no way I am giving up DirecTV. It may be a bit pricey at times, but the service is so much more superior to Comcast. Comcast service is the pits. I do have them for Internet. It's fast, but when there's a problem it is not pretty.

I have Comcast's cable and internet service. Never had a problem here.

Since im a loyal fan of the Rockets and Astros, I would still watch them no matter what channel or carrier.
