Rocking M gets 3 more

This morning's Taylor on Radio says Rocking M is acquiring 3 CP's from Randy Michaels' Radioactive LLC. Here's what they will end up with.

The Cimarron CP is for a C1 at 92.9, aimed towards Garden City. This will give them a station presence in all three big towns in Southwest Kansas, as they already have two stations in Liberal and four in Dodge City. (The Dodge FM's also hit Garden City with good signals)

The Hays CP is a C2 at 105.7. This will probably be paired with their Great Bend-Larned operations, one of which is the only big commercial signal hitting Hays not owner or LMA'd by Eagle in their home market.

The Lindsborg CP is a C3 at 101.7, with city grade coverage over Salina where they have two stations.

I saw that, too. It seems like someone told me KQNS and KILS were being operated by Eagle in an LMA, but I haven't been able to find any evidence of that. Do you know anything about that? I'd have to guess, if that's the case, Rockin' M doesn't intend to keep things that way.

Isn't the Cimarron CP for 92.3? Or has it been moved to 92.9?

Will be VERY interesting to see what Rocking M does with 105.7 in Hays. Eagle has enjoyed a monopoly, owning *all* Hays radio stations since November, 2000.

Cimarron's CP is 92.9. Each station has call letters now. Cimarron is KMML, Hays is KRMR (I had a laugh imagining this station as "105.7 - the Creamer") and Lindsborg is KDJM.

You think The Creamer is bad? Remember when KCHZ was KHUM? It was bad enough that they were calling themselves "96 Hum," but imagine "95.7...The KHUM spot on your dial!"
