Rocky 2

We all remember the famous Don Cannon skit from WIBG, as Rocky wakes up to train in the first Rocky. I now am watching Rocky 2 and as Rock starts to train again and run thru the Philly streets, I just caught a sign that read "Joe Niagara Music Unlimited". Anyone know if that was the late WIBG Jock's store? Goes to show, no matter how many times you watch the same movie, you find new things each time.
Edited by JoeyDee_WOGL on 11/25/05 03:24 AM.

Besides Sly making another "Rocky" movie...Ah-nuld is making yet another "Terminator" motion picture? At what point do these guys look in the mirror and say..."Enough"?

By the way, Philly casting directors are searching for locals for bit parts and crowds in the up-coming "Rocky"; they'll shoot in February or so. Greer-Lange sent out casting-call e-mails last week.

Any "out-of-work DJ's" want to apply? :)

A brilliant little nuance...everybody listened to WIBG one time or another, but blue-collar guys like that ALWAYS seemed to be constant listeners.

Never heard of him having a store. It could just be a bit of atmosphere created for the movie.

That is what it sounds like. I never knew Joe to have a store.

Running down S. Ninth Street through the Italian Market was brilliant in the making of the movie. It is so South Philly. I think that the Italian Market is kind of off the usual tourist route too.
