I was in NYC this week and listened to lots of radio. WPLJ has Rocky Allen in afternoon drive. I was amazed that such a (IMHO) poor talent was on the air in New York. Lots of "um....uh...." and a general lack of direction in the show. Is this the best that NYC can provide? I don't think he could make it in small to medium markets, let alone New York. Am I missing something here? On the other hand, Scott and Todd sound great.

If you actually listen to the bits Rocky does, the show is hilarious. He is very talented and can make people laugh without making immature weenie jokes, lol. He makes fun of himself quite a bit for always having the Um's and Uh's. This day in radio, many professionals do the Um's. Once and awhile I'll have an Um during a break but try hard not to because I feel it sounds unfocused. He did WABC mornings and didn't do well. The show is fit more for an afternoon drive time. BIG fan of white trash price is right!
