Rocky Knight back on the air!

Finally someone with talent on that station!!!

The more things change the more they stay the same.

Now get rid of joe and diesel and its all good!!!
 
Back in the 90s he use to do mornings on the real lrs 102.3 along with troy whom works at sfr right now. Clear channel fired he and troy in the early o's from qmf and put on a syndicated morning show bob and tom but he use to be a staple in louisville radio. I had heard radio one was in talks with him like 2 years ago to come back to the fake lrs 105 but who knows.
 
Where has he been? I wonder if he will get LRS some ratings.
 
Rocky has been at best buy or some retail place but i bet if they promote him he will get them some numbers. I emailed him and said welcome back and that he and troy should team up but he told me noone is hring a morning show these days. He does seem greatful to the heavens above to be back in radio.

that is awesome that rocky is on WLRS... now I know Mainline won't do this, but, get Troy from WSFR and bring back Rocky and Troy! The "local" Bob and Tom!
 
Such an embarrasment to have someone like joe and diesel on the same station as rocky knoight. They are not in the same universe. rocky has talent joe and diesel do not!!!I say give rocky pd stripes.Joe will never get them as long as he lives!!!

You're joking right? LRS tanked in the 80's. QMF came on in (I think) 83 and LRS went from one format to the other. The WORST was the metal format.
 
Actually LRS rebounded pretty well in the 80's after Ron and Terry left for QMF. LRS switched to a mostly white CHR format and had very solid ratings throughout most of the 80's. Their main competition became DJX. Even their "metal" format beat QMF for one ratings book. They were doing pretty well until they stopped paying for their call out music reasearch. Then they kind of tanked and became MIX102. I grew up listening to them in the 70's when they werre playing mostly album rock and there weren't too many other stations on the FM dial competing with them. Anybody remember Hi95 WQHI? Tht's what QMF used to be.

Troy never worked at LRS. The Rocky and Troy show wasn't born until Rocky went to QMF.
