What type of music do they play i mean all music? I think its a great station it sure beats 1025WDVE.
Nice classic rocker...good healthy music mix...but it ain't no DVE! Sorry...but there are not too many stations in these parts that could hold a candle to WDVE's legend or success. WDVE always has a half decent showing in the Johnstown and Altoona Books too. That says something seeing how in Altoona you can only get it via Cable.K-RockFan said:So what do you guys think of Rocky99?

My opinion...and just my opinion....but I'd say the Q would fare better if they were to ditch the format to move to a hot leaning A/C which is something that Altoona has been lacking since the Demise of Mix 104.9 or perhaps try a Jack Style format or dare I say it....an all 80's and 90's station. I just bet any of the 3 would fare well. But the Q could make a nice impact by just opening up the library. They have been doing the same routine for what 10-15 years? Their music mix is too tightTroublemaker said:Both Rocky1049 and Rocky99 claim to be 'rock' stations, however they play mostly oldies and classic hits. Why not just say "Classic Hits" or "70s and 80s hits"? I particularly like the liner 'rock without boundaries' which usually is followed by a late 60s to mid 70s softer rock hit. Usually a 'rock' station will play more 90s and current rock than classic?
I understand why both went classic hits, to try and knock down Q94 (with some level of success thus far), but doesn't this just stir the pot with the Q? I mean, if Forever starts targeting Q94, is there a chance the fine folks at the Q would let the Rockys have the format and perhaps go country to strike back at Forever? (similar to Joe-FM)?
