Rod Fritz On WBZ Radio

Good News ! Just heard Rod Fritz, former news director of the defunct WRKO local news room, on WBZ where this great newscaster/broadcaster belongs. Hope this is the beginning of a long engagement with WBZ Radio.

WRKO's stupidity... do you really like metro traffic doing generic news on WRKO... is WBZ's gain.

And Marga Bessette was recently heard on Fox News Radio (on WRKO) reporting on the NH situation
at Clinton's campaign HQ (or was it on CBS for WBZ? one or the other!)

I heard Rod too. Excellent! I hope he's around a long time.

That's fantastic!

So much for News Talk 680 huh?

I worked with Rodney Alan Fritz in Easton, PA/Washington, NJ. He's a great broadcaster... a real nose for news, and a gentleman to work with. Best wishes to him!

I heard him as well. Guess he left FOX in NY. Great to have him here on local radio.

I heard Rod on WBZ (as a reporter) about a week or so ago but neglected to report it here because 1) I forgot, and 2) I had a lot of work at job #2 lately (including later on today), which may be affecting my health (we'll see this week).

I know Rod & Margo were RKO's in studio group, who was the field reporter and has anyone heard him around? His name is slipping my mind at the moment. He could still be on RKO but I stopped listening totally since Tom Felony got put on the air. I know while Rod was with Fox you could occasionally hear him doing some reports on RKO, but that was it.

I liked their news team very much. Obviously the brass didn't agree.

Rod was my boss at WEEI NewsRadio and later at WMEX. He was key to my getting hired at WRKO. He is a fabulous newser, a true professional to work with, enjoys great pipes and he is a truly great guy. I hope this gig is permanent for him. He deserves the job, and we are luckey to have him back.

Little known fact, he makes a great martini.

I think you may be referring to Paul Tuthill. I have not heard him since being let go by WRKO.

Yes yes! I haven't heard him either. Maybe I'll Google him up. His voice was so deep it almost sounded fake, haha, but he worked well with the crew and I enjoyed their team news coverage...except for that short lived "News on the 10s" bit of course.

What about Listo Fisher? He used to do the news during Howie's show........anyone know where he ended up?

Listo is doing Classical Music on WCRB 99.5 FM and doing another fine job.

I met Rod when I worked at WMEX (Greater Media) about 20 years ago. Seemed like a great guy, and already a very seasoned professional back then.

Paul Tuthill is working at a Public Radio station in The Berkshires. I beleive it is in Amherst.

Now, we have to dig out Mary Blake from the past. Marga B, Jeanine Graf, all were professional
Mary Blake is also at WBZ. I heard Marga Bessette on 96.9 WTKK the Friday after Thanksgiving.
