The famed movie critic from the Chicago Sun-Times and one-half of one of the most successful duos in television history (with the late Gene Siskel and their movie review programs) passed away today at age 70.

A hundred thumbs up for Mr. Ebert. Beyond the well-deserved recognition he received as a film critic he should be remembered as a courageous survivor of a disease which would have caused most people to withdraw from public life. May he know eternal peace and joy.

It is a bit odd, but I never liked Siskel and I never liked Ebert, until I saw them together on PBS. They were perfect together.
