Roger Federer says he is retiring from pro tennis at age 41

About the same age as Serena Williams. He made a brief appearance at Wimbledon and said he'd like to return. But the commentators at the US Open were noting that this was a transition year, and that a new generation of players were advancing to the quarters, such as Nick Kyrios. Time marches on.

Congrats to Roger Federer he was one of the greats among Mens Tennis in the 2000's. This is like the one in the Serena Williams thread where we hear about her as one of the legends among Women's Tennis in the same time frame the 2000's.

Its a case of injuries have got them over the years and also their competitors that are in the league today were not even born or were babies when they were at their peak.
