Roger Hedgecock to go national on weekends.

Roger Hedgecock told his KOGO audience tonight (Tuesday) that he'll go national in a couple of weeks. The show, most likely to be on from 9 a.m. to noon, will be syndicated.

Roger is off to Arizona this weekend on a fund raising for the Border Patrol agents that are in jail.

won't work and has already been tried.. recall about a decade ago when Clear Channel rolled
out clear Channel All Star Weekends.. all CC stars did a saturday.. They all quit after a few weeks.. mike McConnell kept it going, thus the name The Weekends with Mike McConnell

Actually Roger stands a fair chance at a national level. He's got some recognician from all the Rush subbing he's done and unlike many subs, people seem to really like him. One big plus about Roger is that he doesn't talk for the sake of passing the time to the next break, he always seems well prepared to transition. But more often than not, he's got too many things and people want to talk about more about a subject he's ready to get out of. Too often I hear subs talking like they are trying desperately to stir up anything to get a caller. Roger never seems to have that kind of problem, where as Rick Roberts subbing for Savage has had that problem many times.

What is cryptic is Hedgecock's new Media Distribution Company. Is he bailing out of KOGO?

And I still maintain that the weekend thing won't work.. nobody listens to weekend daytime radio. When Clear Channel rolled out All Star Weekends (which included Rick Roberts, he did only one show) Roger did 2 shows and bailed.. Glenn Beck did one (and it was great! My first hearing of him) Cunningham, McConnell, and a couple of unknowns..

And the one thing that kills me is Cliff Albert scheduling a *major announcement* that KOGO's star talk show hosts were going national!!!

heh heh heh.. Weekends are for local/paid/money type shows.. you might find a niche with a Kim Kommando type computer show (Leo LaPorte, etc) but a national talk show at 9 am PST? Naaaaaaaaaaaaw won't work

Roger has to be happy that criminal activity ended his political career because radio has been very very good to Roger and I can see where, after beging a regular Rush fill-in, he's chomping at the bit to go national on a regular basis and this is a way to get his foot in the door. He's not doing this for just a weekend gig.

Roger has an ego bigger than all outdoors so I'm sure he's convinced he'll succeed where others haven't. And I'm sure that while it lasts there's some extra money involved, and if by chance he does break out and get a national following, radio could be very very very good to Roger.

It looks like all of American will be hearing Roger Hedge Kook

Weekends are tough for political talk via syndication. But Roger has earned this opportunity, he actually has a more impressive ratings track record than many weekday syndicated talk shows. I'm not a fan of his point of view , butGood luck to him.

When I heard this, I figured Premiere Radio had signed him. I was surprised to see it was Syndicated Solutions, of all companies.

He's supposed to be national on weeknights 6-9 Pacific in 2008 though, right?

Don't know the exact time. He will not go against Lush Rimbaugh or Hean Sannity; or even Blen Geck.
(Names were changed to protect the innocent.)
