Today, Rogers announced that it was laying off almost 100 people throughout its Media division, nationwide. That number does include many radio people, although there isn't an overall list or breakdown. However, it looks like the biggest programming-related changes are in Ottawa and Halifax--where 1310 News and News 95.7, respectively, will go in more of a Sports direction, with programming piped in from Sportsnet in Toronto.
For more about those moves, see coverage from the Ottawa Citizen (at http://www.ottawacitizen.com/busine...amming+wake+Rogers+layoffs/9128762/story.html) and Metro Halifax (at http://metronews.ca/news/halifax/84...7-newsroom-jordi-morgan-out-as-talk-show-host). In addition, Steve Ladurantaye posted the related memo on his personal blog (at http://www.steveladurantaye.ca/memo-rogers-adds-sports-radio-ottawa-halifax).
