Roku - Recovery for dropped streams?

I have a question about the Roku receiver. Does it have the ability to recover when a stream drops, regardless of the reason (internet traffic, streaming issue at server, etc.)? What I mean by "recover" is having the unit retry/re-estabish the audio after a short amount of time without having to touch the receiver at all. If not, are there any other receiver(s) that do this?

My Roku M1001 keeps trying to recover a lost stream until it's successful.

My ROKU SoundBridge radio does it automagically with a percentage scale of what percent of the buffering recovery status. It keeps trying to recover (buffer) on various streams a station may have as well until it gets back to a working stream.

Well I'll have to check out the latest of these devices. None of the prevalent players on a PC do this reliably for me on many of the streams I listen to. I either have to hit "play" again, clear some error condition, or go all the way back to the web page, link, etc. to reinitialize the stream, which sucks. I've even had this problem listening to Sirius streams over WiFi with a paid subscription.

Thank all of you for answering my question!

You're right. It’s is a very good point. My computer just sits there doing nothing if it loses the stream for whatever reason. You'd think some kind of automatic reconnect system would be implemented in your computer. It can't be that hard. You can buy a "B" stock Roku for under $100, so money shouldn't be a huge issue.

I wonder why popular players we use on our computers don't incorporate that feature? Does anyone know of some third party software that does this automatically?
