Rolf Taylor to APT

This is a huge loss to the whole Telos Team. Rolf has always surprised me with unprecidented levels of support with ISDN issue's. However I hope Rolf all the best in his new venture.

Good Luck Rolf,
Chris

It looks like Rolf Taylor went to work for APT: http://radiomagonline.com/currents/NABRadio/nabr_update_20070925/index.html#taylor

With Jeff Kieth also departed from Telos/Omnia/Axia recently, they seem to be loosing quality people...

Goran,

Thank you for your kind comments....

Both Rolf and Jeff felt the need to take on new challenges in their lives and I respected their decisions. As a business owner, I wished them well in those quests.

Our company remains as strong as before. The reason being that we are always developing the next generation of personnel in each our respective productlines.

I hope you've also asked yourself, "OK, what talents did a longterm employee poasses which were more valuable to someone else than to us? Did we evaluate those talents and relaize we were unable to use them here at the level they'll be used elsewhre?"
I've no idea the answers in your situation - but I hope you've asked and evaluated. There are times when the honest evaluation says "We're pleased for him", and times when it says "Oops, smoking hole in the foot". I sincerely hope this is the first one, which leavse you with mixed emotions.... sort of like watching your motherinlaw go over a cliff in your new car.

It goes without saying, that this is first and foremost in the thought process with any employee, let alone those who have been with your company for awhile. But, it is also much deeper than this one aspect alone.

Considering that this is supposed to be a technical forum, I don't feel it best to go into the psychologies of business here.

Very well said!

(Except for the mother-in-law remark ;) )

Goran, your insightful brilliance floors me. Two guys moving on in a year equals a stampede to you? I guess you must have missed all the guys that went over to Telos from other companies in the last year.

People change and grow and leave jobs for other jobs; nothing weird about that. As my dad used to say, "there's not a Commie under every rock."

Now, where did I say that? That's a gross misinterpretation. Two quality people have left them, that's a fact and that's what I said. If I were them, I'd be a little worried because good people are hard to find. Now I do believe that they are bringing new people in, in fact I know they are!

Littlejohn made a comment that I think is very valid in general, irrespective to the company in question...

Goran,

Since you don't know *any* of the reasoning behind why these changes occurred, your observations cast doubt. If that's your intent, then just say it. If you knew, when you made the original comment, that we had already brought in good people, then why didn't you say that as well? Your comments might be better served, if after a period of time, there was a decline.

Please leave the day-to-day operations and worrying to me.

AMEN..Every great organization has depth built into it and Omnia is no exception.Sure you hate to lose a valued employee but for some reason change just always seems to be good.

Six key employees leaveing a company in under a year is it some kind of omen? Someone at the radio show told me there were 4 more we didn't know about who through in the towel too.

Your numbers are very wrong.

And I suppose they named names? ::) Didn't think so.

Don't believe everything you hear at the Radio Show, especially if the source is named Phil ;)

They say that wise people talk about ideas, average people talk about events, and foolish people talk about other people. I try to stick to the first two. Wasn't me, Doc, point your finger elsewhere.
