Rollye James Remembers Jack Armstrong This Week On "Radio Racket"

Hey Racket guys.. NICE job this week with the interviews with Rollye and Rook.
They were very touching, and sincere. And it was scary for guys like ME where that conversation went about how despondent he felt about NOT being able to find work comenserate with his talent. I understand how he COULDN'T go somewhere in Ft. Wayne and work for 35k. That hit home.
Again..NICE job. I listened to the delayed broadcast.
BE BIG

Thanks, Big Jay. We're appreciative of the fact that they took the time to come on our show. We wish it could have been under better circumstances, of course. I'm disappointed we never had a chance to meet Jack. Besides being a tremendous jock, he seemed like such a great guy. Very sad.

speaking of rollye james , she had a show on friday nights on the old wwdb 96.5 on friday nights in the late 1990's that was sooooo good ...

Thanks Diamond Joe for bringing this up, and thanks Big Jay for the nice words. As Roscoe said, it's a shame we didn't get the chance to get to know him as well as our guests did. At least we were able to have that conversation three months ago, and it'll be preserved forever.

CSP, actually Rollye was on five nights a week on 'DB. Later, she took her show to WPHT in the same timeslot and syndicated it nationally. She's still on every night, in the same timeslot, on XM-165.

[/quote] no george the show is on ch 158 they changed it

Actually, George and Mike are both right. XM carries Rollye live on 165, and replays of her show on 158.

george - thanks a lot !!! but i truly thought that the only night that she had long-time-no-heard-songs was on friday nights...i could be wrong , though ... i might not have mentioned , though , the music part , about friday nights ...maybe though she had that that music format on other nights , and i did not know.....

by the way , i'm a low tech guy ....genuine radio only ... no satellite , no x m , no sirius ... just older selective receivers
