Rollye James Show Being Canceled

Rollye James, heard on channel 158 America's Talk, announced last week that Clear Channel (the owners/programmers of said channel) is canceling her contract to broadcast the show on the channel. So unless Sirius XM decides to take her in on one of their in-house channels, Rollye's program will end after 7 years of being on XM. She's got tons of connections though, and will likely find another venue nonetheless.

Originally her show was self-syndicated, but in 2007 the rising cost of satellite fees/equipment and the large XM audience led her to stop the terrestrial based syndication and broadcast live exclusively on XM and her website, and later shortwave WWCR picked up the show to run on a delay from 12-3 AM CT.

Oh well! You listen to five minutes of one of these washed up, dried up, has been disk jockeys and you've heard them all!

Yeah, it's too bad XM is getting rid of her show; I started listening to her on Friday nights in 2006 or 2007 on XM and her show is pretty good, especially Friday Night Trivia.

I do hope she does get another gig somewhere because she does have a fun show and it's pretty enjoyable to listen to.

It seems I forgot the part about the contract ending March 31, 2011. I thought I posted that. Still they had to notify her several months in advance of a decision.

She and we met here, but that was a long time ago in a distant land.
As a teen, Rollye was just as "into" '60's music as she is today.

Back in the late 80's we met on Compuserve and talked about Miami radio. She knows the history of all the stations there.

She's on air right now doing her last show for Clear Channel's America's Talk on XM 158. Sirius XM has expressed interest in airing her on one of their in-house channels, but right now bandwidth is an issue. She has info on her site, http://rollye.net

No offense, but for a chick, she knows a lot about technology. She talked very intelligently one night about GPS, AM Stereo, and other topics that I thought she'd have not a clue about; she's a smart cookie; I'll give her that.
