Rome Headlines Buffalo Show

If he was appearing across the street for free I wouldn't go see him. The guy is a total cliche. Jim Everett was much too kind.

Rusty: Fair enough. Rome's not for everyone's taste. (To be fair, Jim has tempered down his act ever since that incident.) I used to listen to him on the regular; however, I don't listen to him as much these days-and it's not because I got tired of him.

It should be noted, too, that this will be Jim's second go-round in Buffalo. He had a Tour Stop years ago at Sahlen Field(of course, it was known as something else back then)-I've also made a few other Tour Stops(2 in Cleveland, the other in Cincinnati). Back then, WGR was giving out tickets to the show for free. Now...they START at something like $56 or so(and you can get better perks if you're willing to outlay the money for it).

My only thought is that here's a radio talent who sees himself as an entertainer. You may not like him. That's fine. Some people don't like Beyoncé or other pop stars. No problem. My point is here's a radio host who's also looking to sell hard tickets. How many DJs in Buffalo could do this? There was a time when DJs like Alan Freed and Dick Clark promoted concerts and sold tickets. There can be more to being a radio entertainer than doing a standard air shift. I'm not asking would you pay to see him. I'm asking is there something you could do as a radio talent that could sell tickets in a venue that's not an air signal?

Will he sell enough tickets to avoid having to cancel this event? Rome peaked 20 years ago. WGR moved his show to the Radio dungeon known as KB long ago...
