Ron Chapman et al...

It was great watching Channel 8 this morning. They had video of Ron clapping and pointing and talking and doing what he did so wonderfully all those years. Everything was pretty jovial except for a few of the ladies getting misty eyed.

My favorite Ron moment: The night I went to a KVIL function and I introduced myself to Ron and he couldn't read my name tag because I was wearing a dress with all this fringe (vintage 80's). He blew on my dress to get the fringe out of the way so he could read my name. I laughed so hard I almost cried! Watching Ron on and off over the years, I always thought that if you tied his hands behind his back, he wouldn't be able to speak!! The standing and pointing and using other talking-with-his-hands motions were part of the whole act, just unseen by the public. That energy was just as much physical as it was mental.
