Ron Chapman

On Friday morning at 7:30, 98.7 KLUV will be announcing a special excursion to Las Vegas for Ron Chapman's induction into the National Broadcasters Hall of Fame. There will be a limited number of trips available. This includes a private reception with Ron in Vegas. For details, listen Friday morning at 7:30, or check the "World Tour" link on www.KLUV.com after 7:30 Friday for details. Thought there might be some people on here interested in attending.

Interesting promotion! Honoring the guy who works/consults for KLUV's main competitor, KPMZ, and a person who obviously delights in the latest promos he voices when he proclaims, "Platinum, ninety-SIX-point-seven!"

Sorry, not making light of anything...Ron's certainly earned his place in the HOF.

I imagine KLUV worries about KPMZ as much as KTCK worries about KRLD-FM. If a station is hovering around 30th place (KRLD-FM and KPMZ), it's hard to argue that is your main competitor. I would wager KLUV shares more audience with several other stations than it does with KPMZ.

Sorry if this is a duplicate...but I don't think this actually posted last time I put it up.

I can't imagine NOT doing this. And we'll be doing a local tribute for those who can't make the trip. Details soon.

Update: The trip announcement and website posting has been delayed until 7:30am Tuesday, 2/16. We don't want the weather event overshadowing this important announcement.

If you have contact with him please do. I listened to Ron Chapman for years (back to "3 in a row" days) on KVIL & then on KLUV until he retired from there. More recently, I enjoyed his filling in for Paul Harvey.
