I seen on his facebook page that he's no longer at KRNB. Do anyone know when and why he left?

Of course they don't. But that is a step in the right direction.

I agree with you Salem and as usual, no interest in this particular kind of topic.

That's Service's MO. Jock has high ratings, and jock wants more money and they no and fire you.

I still say Sean Andre has the perfect voice for "The Quiet Storm".

NP Buc...I usually just post on sports talk topics. It's evident that the demo gets no love in this market. Look at Skip Murphy & Co, had huge ratings, neck and neck with the great Kidd Kraddock, and stuck on internet. While other shows, with less than half their success, gets picked up over and over. If CC, Cumulus or CBS flipped one of thier struggling stations and put UC on a decent signal and decent prgramming, for once in this market, with SMAC in the mornings I guarantee it would be a top 10. And it would target 25-54. But it will never happen. So let's throw another top 40 out there to get beat by KISS...lol.

I still say that Radio One made a mistake by not putting them on at least in the afternoon on 94.5.

And speaking of Skip Murphy, I'm hearing he will be the one taking over for Tom Joyner whenever he decides to retire. I read that he gets positive feedback whenever he fills in for Tom.

Wow it will be the second time he replaced Joyner.

Just wanted to add my two cents about Ron Chavis and KRNB.....althought Ron always maintained great ratings (the highest rated daypart on the entire station) he was never a favorite of Ops Manager Mike Erickson. He was always finding fault with facets of Ron's show from his nickname "The Nite Time Dawg" which he made him stop using to him saying the station's positioning statement when he opened his talk break. Ron was always called into meetings and disrepected by Erickson. Ron was hired by Sam Weaver and Ken Dowe so Erickson never embraced him or Tony Mathis, another Ken Dowe hire who is also no longer with KRNB! Tony was let go one day after they cleaned house at KKDA-AM because of budget cuts and now overnights are now automated! Erickson hired K J in the midday and she can do no wrong, and he knew Sean because they both used to work for Clear Channel in California at one time and their paths crossed. K J and Sean are great air talents but their ratings don't reflect it. Mike Erickson is your typical power hungry radio management ego maniac and if you're not someone he brought in or sucking up to him he has no place for you in his little world. He dosen't even know to program a real urban ac station. Listen to KRNB's mix of music, it's awful. He hasn't changed the rotation since he been there. It's the same old songs over and over mixed with a few new ones that they play for two years. In the words of the late NOTORIOUS B.I.G.....and if you don't know, now you know!

I can definitely agree on the music. Very predictable. It's too many new songs out there that's not being played. I also noticed that the "Quiet Storm" is back on 7 nights a week. I think their mixshows would be more successful if they didn't sound like jammin' oldies. They should focus more on the new r&b and leave most of the old school for 94.5.

Absolutely....look how much of a buzz it made when they launched the "Old School" brand. I think the ratings jumped cause the buzz was they were going to replace Michael Baisden. Now back to where they where before.
