What Is This, The CIA?

No background check necessary. Wenger probably remembers Dobson from his days at WGR when Dobson in a very brief stint on middays took Rush down in some very key demos.

If somebody were to put a progressive talker on in this market, Dobson would be a key hire to go up against Bauerle and/or Beach. It was a solid hire on Wenger's part. Pre-emptive. Kills two birds with one stone. Keeps Dobson out of play on any other station that might be thinking of making a run at WBEN and ands a strong performer to his own line-up.

His unpredictablity and unique website are additional reasons Dobson was hired. The guy is very entertaining. He's not playing to the blue hairs and the right wing nutjobs that worship at the altar of Von Rumsfeld and Rush.

Besides, how many WBEN regulars even KNOW the Internet even exists? Even if they do have computers, they're probably using them to play solitaire, poker and hearts.

And Free Cell. Don't forget Free Cell!
Although Mine Sweeper is probably too difficult for most of "them".
