Ron Hoon Nearly Blew It

Ron Hoon came within minutes of committing the biggest gaff in Phoenix TV in recent years this morning.

During the high speed chase along Loop 101, 10's pilot mentioned the car being pursued was going by the new Cardinals Stadium. Hoon insisted the photographer pull back his shot so people could see the stadium. In doing so, the photographer lost track of the car for nearly two minutes. This, as a nationwide audience on Fox News Channel was trying to figure out what was so important about the Cardinals Stadium to Hoon, while the photographer panned up and down the freeway looking for the car.

As they say at Guinness, "Brilliant!".

Enjoy your meeting with your bosses today, Ron. You earned it. You might also want to call FNC and explain it to them, too.

Kudos to Channel 3 for not losing sight of the story, which was the car, not the Cardinals Stadium.

12 News did a good job this morning, too. However, it was difficult for them to keep the car in sight.
