Ron Houston

I learned today that my ole friend and San Antonio legand Ron Houston has passed away. A moment of silence please for one of the great voices of San Antonio radio.RIP Ron.

This is a shock.
Ron was the best.
Here's the item in the local paper:

I remember Ron from his work on KTSA, KEXL (twice) and KBUC. He had a great career as a commercial announcer. What a voice! In recent years He served his community as the Mayor Pro-Tem of the city of Blanco. He will be missed.

Ron Houston was an original, a true Jock's Jock and inspiration to a lot of future Announcers.

Dose anyone remember when he worked for KTSA and KBUC ect? I recall him on the old KEXL 104.5. Also, he worked the morning or evening shift
on the old KFAN 101 FM, from about 1986 to 1990. In 1990 the station was LMAed to KONO 860 and about 20 full and part time people where let
go according to newspaper accounts at the time. Then in 1990, he moved over to the NEW move in, 94.1 KRIO-FM but I don't recall what shift he
was on.

Ron Houston was a great jock and great voice...I live in Harrisburg PA and was stationed at Ft Hood from 69-70 and was always diggin' the Big T, listened to KTSA all the time..I remember Ron as the morning guy from 6-9 and I beleive 10-2 on Saturdays, sorry to see that he passed on---he was a great jock
