Ron Jordan audio archives

Does anyone know who or where I can hear some of those? I checked Airchexx.com and there seems to be a void. I also checked oidar.com and things have changed on the page. If someone could post those somewhere from the days at 68 WMPS that would be pretty cool.

No R-uh J at REELRADIO, all they had were McLain and Dees from WMPS, although they did have several from our distinguished Mr. Grayson...

When was the last time R uh J graced our airwaves in Memphis. I would also love to hear some audio.

The last time I remember hearing Ron on the radio in Memphis was at WHBQ during the Flinn era. I don't have any Jordan material from WMPS that I know of. Greg Davis/Doc Walker had some Indianapolis and San Diego stuff on him at one point. I don't even have any WMPS airchecks from when I was there (not missing anything on that count).

Was it WHBQ or the ill fated WLVS over at Flynn....I'll bet Mike Edwards over at WRVR would know.

I feel like the stint I'm talking about at WHBQ is post-WLVS. Jordan was at WLVS in the early 80's, and Flinn didn't get the Q until the late 80's at the earliest.

Just googlin' like everyone else...

Mr Grayson is correct
he was at 56 WHBQ when flinn got it back after the lma'd sports agreement ended with Kix106... They had a block format on with country in the am, top40 afternoon and alt rock pm, then he WSTN in Sommerville, and at WVIM in Hernando about 1993.

I don't know of anything after that

He also worked at WHBQ pre-Flinn.

Ron co-hosted mornings with Gene Barksdale on News/Talk 56 for about six months.

That came to an end on September 30, 1988, the last day of RKO ownership.

Dr. Flinn took over at midnight.

Well thanks anyway. I will have to do more research on those old airchecks. I know they exist somewhere on the web.

If and when you happen to find anything please report back. I'd love to hear them myself. I was such a HUGE mark for R-uh J-ay. Such a talent. Way ahead of the curve.
God rest his soul.

Everything I had from he and I from the WMPS era was floating in a basement flood in the early 80's... :'(
I'd kill to get them back..
Dan

Re: Ron Jordan audio archives(for Dano)

Yes Dano thanks anyway. I'm sure someone will help me out with some of thos old airchecks soon. I have been listening to oidar.com and some of the best radio I have ever heard as a kid in 1976.

If someone know where Dave Parks (KS103 San Diego) is he might have some form Indy or S.D Ron worked for Dave @ both places. Also his buddy Tom Reopelle in SD might have something . Gary McAvoy Wendy Ross are also some SD names. Wendy was Ron's newsperson in the a.m. in SD in the early 80s hope this helps Myra

Looking for Greg Davis

Hey! I used to be in touch with Greg Davis many years ago. He was trying to help me locate Ron Jordan airchecks from his time at KSDO in San Diego. His old email address is no longer working. Does anybody have a line on Mr. Davis? Thank you.
