RON MARTIN'S PASSING....

Sad to learn of the passing of my old friend and colleague, Ron Martin (Charles Stocks) this past weekend. Prayers and condolences to Ron's family. We had some real good tiems, my friend. I'll miss you!
Steve Kelly, Jackson, MS

I remember a great story Ron told me about how years ago he and his cousin (both long time motorcycle enthusiasts) were riding the "concrete canyons" of downtown Memphis in the wee hours of the morning. At a stop light, another group of cyclists pulled up next to them....the biker in front lifted his visor and asked if his group could ride with Ron. So on they rode, eventually stopping for coffee and donuts at that little donut shop (still there but I can't remember the name) just up the street from WMC on Union. As the bikers removed their helmets, it became quickly apparent who the lead-biker from the larger group was. It was Elvis Presley. They had their coffee and donuts, and all took off together headed toward Graceland. Elvis and his entourage waved as they turned into that famous driveway through the gate. I hope Ron and The King can do a little riding through the countryside in Heaven. How cool that must have been!
