Ron Michaels Birthday

If memory serves correct, today is former FM 100 dj Ron Michaels birthday. As most of you know Ron passed away last year and we will pay our good friend a tribute all day today Wed, Feb 6th by playing bits and pieces of airchecks from his radio days. Hope you enjoy. Scoop...we miss ya.

Hello Jon,

Great idea to salute Ron that way. I'm very fortunate to have a recorded segment of "FM100 News and Weather" done by Ron. One of the news items was about the Indians at Wounded Knee.

I always remember Ron liked playing a lot of the Moody Blues. For some reason a particular track comes to mind that he played one afternoon from the "Every Good Boy Deserves Favour" album - a song called "Nice to Be Here." He play something mellow like that then he'd switch gears and play "Ripoff" by T Rex. Always entertaining !

One of the segment's we are airing has Ron interviewing Paul Williams. At the start of the interview, Ron says excuse me Paul if I cough but I have bronchial problems. That was 1971. We were so lucky to have him until 2007.!
