I can't confirm it officially, but that's the word--and congrats to him! Great place to cap a long career, slammin' down the hits in the Big Apple. Now maybe he'll return my calls, the bastard!

I got an email from Ron Parker. He says he's starting permanently on or around Monday September 10th doing Monday through Thursday nights 7 P-12 A and one weekend shift.

Ron should be a good fit. He knowledgeable, experienced, professional and loves radio.

I would not yet say that this is a "CAP" on his career. There may be more to come after CBS-FM.

He has an uncanny memory for small details. He can remember stuff that happened 35 years ago when we worked together just like it was yesterday.

Good Luck Ron you lucky Schmuck!!!!!

Dave

Wow, I happened to catch Ron Parker yesterday streaming on line at WCBSFM.COM. He was smoking! and playing some great tunes. I forgot how great and exciting he has always sounded. Almost reminded me of his afternoon days on KKBQ when they were Top 40.

We definitely need more exciting radio and personalities in Houston. Please - let's trash all voice tracking and reading liner cards. I'm tired of hearing about 50 minutes of music and less commercials. Are you listening Clear Channel and Cox?

Ron Parker is a great pick for WCBS, and the (dont call it "Oldies!) format change should have been a no-brainer. Ron smokes on the air, when he's allowed to, and he also made me a better jock. Now if we could just get him to bring back "Good Time Oldies Magazine."

I'll bet you're real name is "Bob Neil," isn't it?

I once competed against Ron Parker years ago. He is a very sharp bright individual both on and off the air. CBS is lucky to get his talent.

Listened to Ron tonight for about 2 hrs on live stream, and it looks like he's found a station that wants to utilize his talents. They have a good mix, and live requests, kinda what radio should be. Ron if you still follow this board, good luck.

Our loss is NYC's gain. Thanks Cox
