Ron Parker Is Out at WLS

WLS 94.7 has parted ways with afternoon personality, Ron Parker. WLS rated number three in the afternoon during Parker's watch.

And she (Erin), is the solution?

I'm not knocking her in any way, shape of form, but isn't #3 in that time slot pretty good?

I for one, liked Ron's cadence on the afternoon drive, You'd think he was an tenured Chicago DJ had you not known he was in NYC..

I don't know for sure whose decision this is, or what their thinking is as you look Erin Carmen's name already bene listed for afternoons. A few months ago they hired Cara Carriveau to be a new weekend/fill in host, so they wanted to give her a more permeant slot on the weekends, and this was the only way they could do so. As Djs really work by themselves, only Dave Fogal has an on air partner in Kim, Berk in the mornings. 3rd place I would say is pretty good, in the last ratings that had just came out for September Ron Park the only two shows he trailed were Steve Seaver and Janda Lane on WDRV 97.1-FM, and Joe Soto on WVAZ 102.7-FM. Hosts can only come in, do their show and it is up to listeners to decide who they prefer to hear in a certain slot. It is hard to say what the October ratings will be like until sometime in November when the ratings come out. I never really listened to him myself, but you are right, you would have thought he was a tenured Chicago DJ if you didn't know he had been in New York. Also it would be hard to say if he can get another jon somewhere else, even if afternoons in Chicago if he prefers to start in afternoons. Look at mornings there seems to be better choices, as you see Dave Fogel and Kim Berk came in at #7.
