I heard that Ron was once GM of Wpro. Anyone know about this? He was also one time PD? Then just morning man. Now? What is he now?
Is he producer of Cianci show? wow, I guess next step is phone person? Why does Cianci say he saved him? Anyone know what that means?

Ron does an excellent job co hosting with Buddy. He's worth every penny...
In radio you never know what the next day may bring... Good luck to him..

Ron's strong point is Live spots. Lots of times you'll hear talent do a live spot and it literally sounds like they are reading off paper. Even Howard Stern sucks at Live spots now. Ron's got a grasp of what it takes to voice commercials and sound believable. As far as hosting a show goes, he's your average run of the mill radio host that can be heard anywhere from Pittsburgh to Phoenix. I rate his hosting abilities as average. There are better and there are worse.

Ron is as I know it the PD of True Oldies and co host of the Buddy show. Yes he formerly was GM of WPRO and the Score and also (by my count) former PD of WHJJ, WPRO-AM, WRX, and possibly 99X and The Hawk (my memory is hazy of that timeframe). Also was in FL in West Palm at a staion as PD (maybe GM). The man is a radio talent...will one day be in the RI Radio Hall of Fame.

Agreed, Ron is a great talent on mike and behind it. He was great as Sherm's sidekick on WHIM and then WHJJ and those commercials he used to do for Phred's drugs were hillarious.

He also PD of HJY for a few days along with HJJ. This happened right after it was quickly learned Carolyn Foxe couldn't handle PD stripes. Buddy's reference to Ron saving his life may be when Ron gave him his 1st radio gig. You may remeber back in the 80's, afterr HJJ turned to talk, Ron was taking chances on several personalities. Remember Eddie Beard? Remember the 2 contest winners who becamce sports hosts(they weren't bad). He stuck a few Dr's on there, less successful. also he gave a job to someone i'll never forgive him for-Maryann Sorrentino. I don't think he was responsibile for steve white though, although i may be wrong. i think jim murphy was still there.

so it is a good thing to go from GM to producer.

Uh... NO. In my opinion definitely not. Instead of climbing the ladder of success, it's about three or four staps closer to the bottom. So now comes the BIG question. Did Ron want less responsibility and a possible pay cut? I doubt it. But he also seems like the type that just goes with the flow and is just happy to still have a job.

Ron and I have emailed back and forth. The first round of conversations I think he wanted to kill me because of things I was saying about his friend Jen Brien. I don't blame him. Sometimes I open my mouth up and I have that effect on people. But he emailed me again a couple of months ago and he was nothing but nice to me. As a matter of fact my last words to him were "Happy Fathers Day". So he and I are fine now. He seems like a genuinely nice guy who cares about his friends. I respect him for that.

Like I said... he is an easy going person. I think Citadel could put Ron in any position that they wanted and he would find the positive in it and be OK. That is just my impression of him. He's also very loyal to WPRO. That is an asset to any company.
