I'm told that 1230 had a rooftopper on the Baldwin Piano Building. Checking the net, current 1230 stick appears to be a in park. Does anyone know when the downtown Cinccinatti tower was dismantled?

Then they had somebody named Bill Drake that came along in 1967... Stop me - I'm feeling my age! (Those were the days...)
123-WB in the Boss Radio / Bill Drake days...some of the finest top 40 radio to ever come out of the Queen City. They competed with WSAI until the Spring of 1969. And the "Little Tower That Could" was fed with only 250 watts at night...the night signal made it to the city limits, but not really well. Through the generous lending of many tapes by R-I member FRR, I have copied hours & hours of Boss Radio WUBE and my winter project will be to scope it down & make it available for free download--Big Al Law rides again...stay tuned for that coming attraction.Time Traveler said:Ken Tucky said:When they switched to 123/WB in January of 1966, it was one HELL of a radio station! A question for you other old timers....Which in your opinion was better....WCPO or 123-W-B? I left town just weeks before the WCPO/WUBE transition. I remember WCPO quite well, but I only heard 123-W-B a few times.
Also...when was 1230 the "hootenany station"???
