Rooster's New Website...

Click the "Top 10 songs" link on the new site, and you get a list of rock. Last 10 and weblinks are country though.

And they don't stream over the Web either, evidently; I certainly couldn't find any link to a streaming player...

Their stream is up, go to thestreamcenter.com - it's still listed as "classic rock", lol.

Yet he was able to reflect the format change of WMQX/Greensboro just three days prior...

Wanted to let anyone interested know. I have been listening to Rooster for the last 7 days. I finally gave up after hearing "I've got a brand new girlfriend" at least twice a day since I started listening (7:30 am to 4:30 pm). So, forget about the ads touting "variety" on the "new" rooster. It's the same old "Cheap Channel" crap. I wish Cheap Channel wou;d just disappear.

Well, give them credit, they really have been breaking out the variety. I mean, "Daddy's Hands"? "Church on Cumberland Road"? Those are songs you don't hear on the radio anymore...

"Brand New Girlfriend" is what's known in the biz as a current. Of course they're gonna play it to death - now. Heck, the Wolf plays it to death more than the other "fresh" country - it's the name of the game.

The link to the streaming player is now on the Rooster website. CC says The Rooster is for real--- unlike "100.7 The Bull" two years ago--- but I'm still skeptical. Also, an update for UNC fans: The Rooster is still carrying the UNC games, picking up where the old 106.1 RDU left off; I just hope the basketball team plays far better than the football team is doing so far...

New info on The Rooster from R&R

Cooler Takes Rooster Reins
Oct. 27, 2006
By Ken Tucker

Clear Channel country WTQR/Greensboro PD/afternoon jock Trey Cooler segues to recently launched country sister WRDU (the Rooster)/Raleigh as PD. Meanwhile, CC country WKKT/Charlotte PD John Roberts adds those same duties for WTQR.

Roberts' move marks the second time in less than a week that Clear Channel has consolidated country programming positions. As previously reported, country WGAR and oldies WMJI/Cleveland PD Meg Stevens was named PD for both WPOC/Baltimore and WMZQ/Washington, D.C.

Blade seems more interested in golfing than jocking if you read his blog. His handicap seems more important than getting back to work. The longer he is out the less chance he will be back and that is tragic.
