Just wondering how many (if any) former "FM-105ers" (Rosenberg) are still floating around?
What's happened to that signal? I was there in the early '80s....interesting place to say the least!

You talking about the former country station, KFRD? Loved listening to the station, which was picked up pretty well in NW Houston at the time.

Good little station of course so was Freeport's KGLF 103.3 and KIOX 96.9 in El Campo.

Very tough to find a small town community station these days.

I believe it's KAMA-FM and broadcasting from either downtown Houston or Missouri City with a 50,000 watt equivalent signal. I'm thinking it's licensed to Missouri City now, too.

It is KAMA-FM which officially is now Licsenced to Deer Park, TX and broadcasts right accross the Freeway from Downtown.

I have to say, KAMA's signal has been greatly improved since it moved from the top of the Shell One Plaza to the Xmitter by Navigation. I can now receive KAMA-FM all the way to Navasota TX. Their HD signal has also been greatly improved. At DT, the HD signal only reached about 1/2 a mile past Beltway 8 on almost every direction. Sometimes, the signal would drop way before reaching the Beltway 8. With the new signal, I can now hear the HD stream all the way to Tomball TX. This is a great improvement. I also got it to lock in Magnolia TX (very spotty). I wonder if the fact that the antenna was on top of the Shell One Plaza had to do anything with the poor signal. Looking at FCC maps and Radio locator, I knew that KAMA-FM was not as good as the maps depicted it when it was liscenced to Missouri City.

Yeah, there are some of us still around. I was on FM-105 in the early 1980s and again in the late 1980s. The 1st time around, I was Chuck Clifford because I was on the air on KNUZ. The 2nd time I was Nick Charles because I was on KILT. I used my real name on KNUZ and KILT. While I was Nick Charles, I was doing the all night shift on KILT. Dave Rosen did the afternoon news on FM-105. However, he is Ron SamuelS who did 10PM-2AM on KILT at that time. My ex wife also worked at FM-105 in the early 1980s as LaJuan Kirks.

Actually...104.9 was never on One Shell Plaza. 104.9 transmitted from, I believe, the Wells Fargo bank building.

Moved back to Rosenberg in 2011. Left in 1990 to work at a station in Alabama. Wanted to know what it felt like to work at a station with a "W" instead of a "K". Left KFRD end of June 1990. Heard rumor someone trying to start up another (English) station in our area. However, don't know. Was told that (English) audience didn't support KFRD, only Spanish, which why both AM and FM in fall of 1990.
