Roser Buying WRCK

I didn't know until recently that the WRCK calls were moved to 100.7. Too bad Ken didn't get the big signal on 107.3. Even so, it is a good signal and it will be interesting to see what he does with it.

Unless they plan of launching a new station, the most logic move would be to use 100.7 for WUTQ since 95.5 is a only an LP.

So anybody have any kind of an update on this? CNY Radio stated that Roser was advertising for a new jock but no details on what station. If they do move WUTQ/WADR over to the new station what will happen to the translator on 95.5?

During my last trip to the Utica area, I noticed it was still Christian music on 100.7. So, I recently asked someone at Roser what was going on with the sale. He said the sale process should be complete by mid-March... but he didn't have any other information to share. I didn't think that was enough to run a full story on my site, but since the question came up here, I figured I'd share.

Anyone's guess what happens with 95.5, assuming they do move the 95.5 format over to 100.7. Hard to imagine Roser would have any need for it after that point. Either way, I guess we'll finally find out in the next 2-3 weeks.

So CNYradio.com is reporting the sale has gone thru. So what's the latest buzz? People outside of the area want to know!

They've moved the "WUTQ" talk format from 95.5 over to 100.7, which is now WUTQ-FM. The WRCK calls are being parked on 1480 in Remsen. First call change there since it's signed on, I think!

Technically WREM were the original calls on 1480 in Remsen. Sorry to see the WADR calls go for sentimental reasons. Are they splitting the programing? Simulcasting 1480 & 95.5 and 1550 & 100.7?

For now, they're all a simulcast, and I'm also sorry to see the WADR calls go for sentimental reasons.

For regulatory reasons, 95.5 can't simulcast 1480 (it's outside 1480's coverage area). If Roser does split anything off, it would be a 1550/95.5 simulcast (maybe with 1480 tagging along, maybe not), separate from 100.7.
