Roula and Ryan are the best

that made me laugh. wasn't sure if it was when they refered to ryan as "hunky" or when they said "The Texas trio seems more intelligent than most on radio". Thanks Houston Press I needed that laugh.

I didn't know they were still on the air. That's the level of excitement they generate for me. Oh, The Houston Press also declared "Watching Paint Dry" as the great new fad this year.

The 'Cloud Corporation' has to be wetting itself with this great honor! More proof that they know what they are doing in Houston. First, KFNC gets a news award after its demise, and now this. Perhaps Rock 103.7 and Walton & Johnson will get some sort of award as well.

Walton and Johnson is not on Rock 103.7 anymore and the format has changed to Jack 103.7 They are not at MOJO 9-5-0

Are you guys forgetting something? The Houston Press doesn't just pick this stuff at random. The winners in every category are chosen solely based upon the number of votes they receive in the Press's annual readers' choice poll.

You may not personally like Roula and Ryan, but they've got loyal listeners who take time out of life to actively support and interact with them. I'd say the Press poll seems to be right on target, at least if "makes listeners give a dookie enough about them to go through the hassle that it takes to vote in our long, complex poll" is a valid criteria.

Or all the lackeys at Cloud are stuffing the ballot box.

In order to do that, don't you have to have employees? (where's that rimshot sfx?)

Actually, Stan, have you ever taken a Houston Press poll? You have to go through the entire thing in order for your vote to count, and you can't skip categories like Best Dog Catcher and Best Councilmember for District 99.2 or whatever. It's entirely too time-consuming to take once as it is! More than likely, this win which puzzles the board happened the old-fashioned way; R & R opened the mic every day for a couple of weeks and mentioned they'd been named contenders in the poll, and their listeners voted. Thank goodness they didn't ask their listeners to dump trash on the mayor's lawn.

Didn't they win a Houston Chronicle reader's choice poll shortly before they were canned from Clear Channel for the glittery lure of Sam Malone? Regardless of whether or not you or I like them on the air, perhaps it's time to stop bashing them and get to work discovering what makes them connect so well with their listeners.

Y'know what? I can't really think of anybody I'd say is doing a "better" morning show.

I think the Houston Press just needs to stick to takin their pictures of tree hugging hippies do their artwork around and talk about whatever activist group is up and moving around this week. But first off, anything the houston press has an opinion about, its prolly a good chance that I will have the opposite opinion. The Houston Press is a publication that belongs in San Fransicko. Maybe they were talking about Roula and Ryan being the best in the Montrose community.

The Houston Press do these things to get a lot of chatter among people who could care less..and it works! In their recent Music Awards they gave John Evans the Best C&W Award. he hasn't played a country song in 4 years!!!
