Roula and Ryan Petition

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh yes. Now, let's hearken back to the days of yesteryear, when KIKK-FM became The Wave. Many folks were upset. They even started a petition online to stop those mean ole Infinity people for messing with their station, which had been their station for almost 40 years of country music and entertainment.

Did it work? No.

Observe: http://www.petitiononline.com/41132/petition.html

Will a petition about two DJs in Houston Texas for a short time together, I might add, work? No.

You are wasting your time and your efforts. Although commendable and perhaps admirable, the results will be the same.

Move on (and I don't mean dot org)

"Not that it would ever make those CC nuts change their mind"

Shouldn't that be reason enough to not even bother?
I mean I preferred them over Sam myself, but I think we both know that this is a waste of time and the ONLY reason to even look at those signatures is for entertainment.

My favorites are 63-79.

______________
Because you dance to disco but you still like rock.

The goal is simply to let the programming geniuses in Houston to see what real people are saying. I for one do not work in radio yet still have a passion for it. It is discouraging when I read all this jaded radio rhetoric. A co-worker of mine e-mailed it to me and I found it entertaining because there were real responses from people that shared my frustration. I say if you are a radio person, don't bother, but if you are a radio lover, check it out.

Jaded? Not really. Its more fact than anything. I simply presented you with a similar situation. Only that station had been ensconced for almost 40 years. I should know, I worked there in 1975. Love it? I've loved radio since I was 7 years old. That was 1958! I fell in love with KILT 610, the biggest Top 40 station ever in this area. How many times has it changed? Many, especially if you count the days when it was KLBS. My love and passion for the business continues to this day.

I am a real person, a real radio person and a real radio lover. However, I am also a realist.

> I for one do
> not work in radio yet .......

Then learn something from your elders. From the outside, its a different perspective. I've been in for 34 years. That does not count the time when I was on the outside.

It's over, let it go.
Clear Channel couldn't care less what the listeners think. To them Sam was a cash cow over at KRBE and want to squeeze whatever cash they can out of him while he's still a name because he comes with listeners. Once thats over he'll be shown the door in the same manner Roula and Ryan were.

Hey it could work. Check out some of the signatures. Some pretty important people like dead former presidents, dead hollywood stars, Karl Rove and even cc management. I'm impressed.

OK not really. It seemed like people were more serious and passionate about the KLOL switch.

Do you think that everyone who doesn't take your side works for Clear Channel?
I don't see why you get so pissed because of people telling you the truth about the futility of this petition.

By the way, signature 248 is my favorite so far.

I don't think Chuck was telling you it wasn't good to be proactive, simply to be based in reality. Although, with enough signatures look what happened with KIOL and how amazing that turned out.

I think you're just taking your obsession a little too far, that's all.

You're right.
50 posts about ONE topic isn't obsession, but a couple of posts from someone (who empathizes with you no less) saying that your efforts will get you nowhere and that it's time to move on and wait for them to reappear in 6 months is.
But whatever, I'm not 12, so I'll stop arguing with you now.

Leaving the argument behind, being in radio is not a prerequisite for using this board, so don't think that I don't think you shouldn't be here.
If that was the case, I shouldn't be here either.
:)

Naaaa... look at 251. Someone had WAY too much time on their hands. Oh and 277 is about as classy as they come!

Yeah, 251 is the one I was talking about.
If you look at the latest signatures on the main page and then click on view signatures to look at all of them, the numbers change.

Weird.

No Mr Tiller does not work for Clear Channel. If you had read his posts you would see that he is employed by Infinity Broadcasting. Its funny to read posts from people who obviously have no idea how things work in radio in this day and age. There is no KHMX crew (other than the DJs and they have no say over what happens) and it is not a single entity. Are you aware that KHMX is part of a cluster of about 8 other stations that occupy a floor or two of office space and programming is determined by a hand full (if that) of people who know little about radio themselves. Those people delegate the orders handed down to them from the the evil empire in San Antonio.
