You can take Out 107.7 and 104.9.. What Radio Station is going to Take there Shares? I have my money on 96.7 On taken a lot of 104.9 Shares of Listers. I see 104.3 taken a lot of the Shares of 107.7 listerns.

Take 'there' shares? I'm sure 96.7 could get some 'listers', but I'd bet 93.3 will get more benefit than 96.7. Oh, and I bet they get some of the listeners too.

What a HOOT that KJCE has now doubled KVET-AM. Way to go, CC! You've completely destroyed one of Austin's great legacy stations.

KVET has UT sports, don't they? I don't think they were playing much over the summer.
Lets see what the fall ratings look like. Besides, I think John Medani will be able to do something with the station his predecessor couldn't. (Like get along with the staff?)

IIRC, if you look at the ratings history over the past couple of years, neither of those seems to make a lot of difference. Once again, it's all programming (and perhaps that piss-poor nighttime signal!).

I second that on the nighttime signal. It Sux.

They used to have a construction permit to move to a new day and a new night site. But if you look at it it wasn't really better. I guess that's why they allowed the permit to expire back in November of 2005.

The property at Metric and Rundburg is most likely worth more that the AM Transmitter facility itself.

Both 1300 and 1370 are fighting Mexican signals which have bumped up their power in recent years. A 1300 in Juarez is pumping out 38,000 watts daytime which plays hell with KVET at sunup and sundown.

1370 has the same issue with a Monterrey station which is now 10,000 watts daytime until they power down for the night.

And remember that night in Mexico starts at 7 PM all year round.

Of course, you mean that nighttime power change for AM radio stations in Mexico occurs at 7 PM.

Yes, "night" is defined, as the context should show, as 6 AM to 7 PM local time all year long.

Actually for what they are, they have had decent ratings in the past (around 3.2 to 3.6 I believe on average). UT Sports does play a big part in that, but the truth is that management has killed that station by failing to keep the best talent and hiring some real bad talent. Jon Madani is doing his best to put it back together, but he has no support or resources so it is going to be a long climb back....if he can even get there.
