Route 66 oldies station

Just wondering if anyone out there knows the name to the oldies station in northern AZ... I think it has something to do with Route 66 or Seligman, AZ but I really don't remember.

Thanks!

They were pretty decent. The Mrs. and I spent a lot of time listening in August last summer as we drove from Vegas, to the Canyon to Phoenix to Flaggstaff to Vegas.... you get the idea.

Amazingly, the 70 dbu covers only 833 persons, and the 60 dbu just 2,400. How do they survive? Did you hear any ads on it?

It's played constantly at Seligman's famous Delgadillo's Sno Cap - featuring great shakes, good burgers and bizzare entertainment with every sale.

Virtually every Colorado River trip, on it's way back to Flagstaff after weeks of deep immersion in the Grand Canyon, free of radio and tv stops there for cold drinks and hot food - whence they get over dosed on reality by a blaring KZKE Route 66 Good Time - Great Oldies - Build Me Up Buttercup blasted through high school stadium quality speakers.

I've never heard a "local spot" - it's geared for the freeway crowd on I-40.

Sno-Cap is worth the visit, sit awhile on the patio and watch the world of strange roll by.

rickity

Sno Cap (love that place!) plays it, as well as just about every Route 66 shop in Seligman. The station is perfect for that town, and it's actually pretty good. I was able to hear it well all the way to Kingman.

KZKE Route 66 Oldies has a translator in Kingman. At least it had one in May 2007 when we passed through. We heard spot ads for local businesses in Kingman and Laughlin, Nevada.

The originating signal from Seligman is fairly strong in the Chino Valley / Paulden area north of Prescott.
We have a few listeners in our little "burgs" as well...
;)
