Question is, is his syndication deal (such as it is) covered by the same contract that covered his work in his home market of Cleveland, or is it a whole separate package?
If they're two separate contracts (as they should be if he or his agent set things up right), then he may well still be on the air in other markets while he fights out his status in Cleveland. If not, then he's on the beach for the moment but free to land anywhere they'll sign him (and I've read elsewhere that he's a totally free agent in Cleveland without a noncompete holding him back).

Is WZNE running Rover repeats, or have they done something else?
I don't know the nature of the syndication contract, but I'm assuming it runs through CBS Radio. And I'm also assuming it's tied to his syndication by his own company as a "Stern replacement" back when that started.
With his CBS Radio contract apparently out the window at the end of March, I'm guessing it includes the syndication part. Clear Channel could certainly offer up his show to affiliates, but I have no indication A) they are talking about him as a syndicated entity, or B) that WZNE could or would be able to "re-up".
I mention Clear Channel because, as we reported earlier (and have now been joined by the local CBS-TV affiliate), Rover appears to be headed for CC's rock WMMS/100.7 starting somewhere around April 1st.
Almost all of this is semi-informed speculation.
