Rover vs Maxwell is getting intense

Rover dropped Maxwell's story about how he had a gay relationship with another man but he also say's he has explosive information that will ruin Maxwell's career in radio. I personally think Rover is full of it but what if he is telling the truth? What could it be? More importantly, why does he even care what Maxwell is up to right now? Max is 14th in the ratings and Rover is only giving him exposure.

Why does anyone care what either of these two clowns do?

At this point, the hype between both shows is stupefying.

It's obvious that both hosts hate each others guts - and Maxwell probably has good reason to despise Rover. But for Rover to keep threatening to destroy Maxwell's career - when MWL's show is allegedly DOA on WNCX - is simply despicable. Obviously Rover has some sort of vendetta, and that makes me NEVER want to listen to his show ever again.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lanigan & Malone outlasts BOTH of them when all is said and done.

Rover has nothing on Maxwell. The gay thing was what he thought he had, until Maxwell admitted it and told the real story.
Maxwell is also no longer that low in the ratings.

With clowns like this as local "talent" it's no wonder so many stations are going syndie.

Wouldn't Bob & Tom and John Boy & Billy insult your intellegence a whole lot less?

Probably, but I'm a fan of neither. B&T have been mailing it in for years. They are getting long in the tooth ( they gotta be in their 60s I would guess ) and their audience is as old as they are.
I will admit they were great in the 80s. Tons of fun in their day. Not so much now..

I think both CBS and CC will be doing more syndication and both of these shows ( 98.5 and 100.7 ) will utimately be removed and replaced with national hosts. It's coming. The guys should prepare for it.

i agree about bob and tom .in the 80`s they were doing great morning radio.now they are a bore.

why they are still a top rated show is beond me.

Not real sure how they are doing in ratings. Can't post those number here ya know?

Being big in Indy is to be expexted: Habitual listening, home town boys, years of advertising.

Don't know how they are doing in their small town America syndicated markets.

So whats the story?

Im not a Rover fan, at all, but if I had to choose between the two, Id choose him over Maxwell and his awful cast and show. That thing is unlistenable. How did they ever dupe WNCX into hiring them to do mornings, to begin with? They have have had a niche in afternoons, but that rarely, if ever, translates into mornings, especially a thin, weak show like thiers. The people who run WNCX are clueless.

Powerless is more like it. That shop is run out of NYC.

NCX and WMMS share audience with each other......1.2 and 1/2....... Maxwell on WNCX is an attempt to get some younger audiece from 1007. over to WNCX. Awful show...young listeners.

Is that the new rule? We can't discuss something unless OMW or Nathan deems it important enough? Their over inflated sense of self worth is tiring.

Funny! Reminds me of a Stevie Wonder song!

Just expressing my opinion. I have no control or input over the topics on this board, and don't want it...knock yourself out. Discuss Rover and Maxwell's shoe size, grooming habits, love life, height, bowel movements, it's no sweat off my back.

I just get a bit annoyed by the whole thing, because I get peppered with "WHAT'S GOING ON WITH MAXWELL AND ROVER? ARE THEY GONNA BE FIRED? WHAT DID HE MEAN BY THAT?", which means I have to ask around and see if anyone's about to be canned or something people might care about that's not inter-show sniping to generate "content".

Anyone who knows me knows I have absolutely no "over inflated sense of self worth". In fact, it's usually quite the opposite.

I've made my point, so I'm bowing out of the thread. But I'm entitled to my opinion on this whole thing just as much as those who follow all the minutae of the "feud" between the two shows are.

That statement is laughable..last I checked, neither OMW or Nathan have a "moderator" tag attached to them here..I dont know either of them that well but from what little I know of them, they have no "over-inflated" sense of self worth that I can see..

When Rover bolted from CBS Radio to WMMS, that was news. Maxwell's dismissal from WMMS was also news.

This feud, well, ISN'T news. All it is... well... is posturing by both hosts to get listeners. Nothing changes in the long run. Again, if someone got suspended, fined, or fired, then it becomes newsworthy.

It reminds me of DCRTV's mailbag whenever something happened on the Don & Mike show (vacation, suspension, triggering of the dump button), and Dave's inbox would be clogged with speculation from listeners about D&M's future. It's cute at times, sometimes funny, but just gets old after a while.

That being said, if people want to speculate on here, be my guest. I have no control or input over anything on this site, nor do I want that responsibility.

Who died and made OMW Bill Maher? ;)
