Roy Fox is still Roy Fox

His wedding at the McDonalds on Stanwix Street is still one of the all-time memorable
moments in Pittsburgh radio.

Forgive, but the link isn't coming up on the iPad. It's one of three possible links, arguably the least interesting (an article and two videos). Here's the full article, and a video up top of Roy giving a house tour in the mansion he caretakers. (Apologies if your link gets you to all of these.)

Small correction: It was the Roy Rogers on Liberty, right around the corner from McDonald's. Future mayor Bob O'Connor was the manager there, although I don't know if he was in charge when the Roy-Mary wedding took place.

Are you sure? I thought it was at the McDonalds. Was O'Connor still in the restaurant business at that time?

I remember when Roy Rogers took over the Tuck Shop in the basement of the Cathedral of Learning.
They invited Roy to come and be Grand Marshal of the Homecoming Parade. It actually brought out protesters.
Too much Capitalism for some at Pitt, I reckon.

Positive it was Roy Rogers rather than McDonald's. Verified it with a Google search that turned up the Post-Gazette article from April 5, 1984. Have no idea if Bob O'Connor was still managing the RR then. After working for RR (Pappan's), he had a place on Forbes Ave. in Oakland called Bobby O's.

He spoke at the College Youth Group in the early 70s in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church on 6th Street downtown. Remember it well....He mentioned how he did not own a car etc.
