105.3 can already be heard (barely) on auto radios...but most of the time blended in mono or noisy in stereo depending on the radio.

Yesterday (July 14) I listened to KTWL 105.3 in my car while parked in the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion parking lot in The Woodlands at 7:20 PM and 11:20 PM. On both occasions the signal was strong and there was no static.

I listened to KTWL a few days ago from 1960 to Conroe... started getting static at Conroe, but all the way up 45 there was very, very little static... something the average listener probably wouldn't even notice. To not even technically supposed to make it worth a crap into The Woodlands... they've done a great job with this station. Hats off to Roy Henderson and the KTWL crew.

Was it in stereo? I doubt it (most factory radios blend to mono EVEN while the stereo light it on..WHY?? To cut down the noise!!!) NOW try getting out of your car, walk into a building and turn on a table top radio or Walkman...see if you can hear the station.....betcha cant.....THATS what makes a station when trying to cover an area...not the car radio reception.

Yes, it was in stereo. From inside a friend's house in Oak Ridge North.. a couple of months ago I tried KTWL on a table-top radio and it was full of static, but you could definitely tell that the station was there. So, I'm thinking... after this upgrade, if it hasn't already been done... It should be atleast listenable on a table top radio. I'll have to try that out.
