Royce International saga, update

My mistake!
No problema. The saga of Crazy Ed has had many twists and turns over the years (and decades). It's hard for any of us to understand why he continues to tilt at windmills, but I guess he's living his impossible dream.

Ed Stolz isn’t going to be done until he’s dead. He is going to make life hell for whoever wins the auction

Stick a tort in him; I think he's done.

Stolz might have something here to use against Patrick..., (Also posted in Wyoming forum). Is this old news to readers of this thread?

Note... Legend Communications is the station group. Patrick Communications is the broker side:

Hard time in the slammer coming?

Do Any Prison Radio stations exist in the USA?
There have been shows aimed at prisoners, usually on open-access, Pacifica-like stations. The one in my hometown, KOPN, used to have a weekly program titled Zebra Sunrise, especially for prisoners at the Missouri State Penitentiary (not to be confused with the Missouri General Assembly) in Jefferson City. I don't see it on the current KOPN schedule.

This is the wife of Larry Patrick. Everything Larry did while handling the receivership for Stolz's stations had to be approved and accounted for through the court. These are also from several years ago, well before Larry Patrick was named the receiver.

STA Filed for KBET and K276GX. They don't look to physically exist anymore.

Unfortunately, while the Bankruptcy Estate anticipated that third party would go out to the
stations promptly upon the assignment of the licenses to the Bankruptcy Estate, the third party has
yet to do so. Therefore, and since the Bankruptcy Estate had received informal reports that the
stations may be operating with reduced power (or even off the air), the Bankruptcy Estate located
and retained a qualified contract broadcast engineer to go out to inspect the stations’ equipment at
the studio and transmitter sites (and to also inventory the equipment, and similar tasks), and report
back to the Bankruptcy Estate. The engineer conducted his field inspections on August 29 and 30,
2023, and while the Bankruptcy Estate has not yet received the full report, the engineer did confirm
that both KBET and K276GX were off the air, so the Bankruptcy Estate is filing this notification
and silent STA request.

Specifically, the engineer has advised that there currently is no electric service at the site,
and basically all broadcast equipment for the stations (K276GX is co-located, licensed to operate
from one of the KBET towers) at the KBET site was either missing or heavily vandalized at an
unknown time by unknown persons, such that there was little to no working broadcast equipment

at the site. To the best of our knowledge and belief, commercial electric service to the site appears
to have been terminated at some time prior to June 2023 (we suspect that payment for the electric
service was stopped upon the court appointment of the Trustee, with electric service stopped at
some point after that time due to nonpayment), although the stations reportedly continued to
operate for some period of time using a generator at the site (an FCC field inspector even
mentioned to FCC counsel to the Bankruptcy Estate that the stations were operating using the
generator during his last visit to the site
). The engineer reported that what little equipment
remained in the equipment building at the site (other than an exciter for the K276GX transmitter)
had been basically stripped of all of its copper or other potentially valuable metals, and that even
things like the coaxial cables and the copper bonding strap at the base of the tower were missing.1

There also was a bullet hole through the generator, which is no longer functional

KFRH Official STA
"The engineer was scheduled to do his field inspection on
August 29 and 30, 2023, but due to recent rains and a washout of the unpaved road leading up to
the KFRH tower site, creating an unsafe condition, the engineer was unable to conduct the
inspection of KFRH; however, the engineer did confirm that KFRH was not transmitting
programming (but may be transmitting a carrier wave; if so, the Bankruptcy Estate is able to have
the site landlord shut down the transmitter, and will have that done as soon as possible)
. As a
result, the Bankruptcy Estate is filing this notification and silent STA request, and will also
reschedule an inspection of KFRH by a qualified engineer as soon as possible

I’m so ready for Bay Area radio to be done with the Crazy Ed saga. 92.7 is a terrible signal due to spacing with KTOM. Millions of people in Silicon Valley and the South Bay, let alone the flimsy East Bay coverage can’t reliably receive this signal. Let it go, it’s basically already a dead signal.

Still covers hundreds of thousands of listeners. Still a market for it.
