"rr" x2! 1/19/14

Late last night was a good time to be getting Cuba, it seems.

870 - Radio Reloj (CMNB Bueycito, Cuba); heard with time beeps and "RR" morse code at 2231 PT, in mix of KFLD and KJMP. NEW #681, presumed 10KW, 3,059 miles! Far east Cuban DX. Cuba #10.

950 - Radio Reloj (CMBE Arroyo Arenas/Havana, Cuba); heard again with "RR" morse code at 2232 PT, in mix of KJR/XEKAM. NEW #682, again presumed 10KW at a distance of 2,668 miles! Cuba #11.
Tried for Reloj on 860, no chance with several mixing.
Reloj ALSO heard on 570, but that's a relog from October.

Rebelde pretty good on 1180, under KBOI on 670 as well. Tried 530 for the Cubans, couldn't get them.

As you probably know already, I'm in n the midst of three weeks in St. Pete beach area.

Cuba's 530 and 950 audible here 24/7. A few others as well. There's a local on 570, but I've heard R. Reloj underneath it when nulled. 1180 (also 24/7 here) is now a "chorus" with echos, so I suspect they may have added some local transmitters. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than me can confirm this. 870 here is all WWL 24/7. but covered up by local splatter from 860.

640 and 670 are actually the strongest Cubans in St. Pete. Although the latter is rendered pretty much inaudible by a 930watt local a few miles from me on 680. Still, I'm wondering if you might be able to pull out R. Progreso and R. Rebelde on these channels from underneath KFI and KBOI respectively.

I have many times before, on good propagation. KBOI is very strong here however, but I can null out KFI and hear R. Progreso. Wish that KYWN was off the air so I could try for the 890, Boise is a pest here. And in SS as well.
Currently I have 11 Cubans logged from here in Washington. First was 670 actually!
