RTN Adds Atlanta Affiliate

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Nov. 20 -- Retro Television Network (RTN), which is nationally owned and distributed by Equity Media Holdings Corporation (Nasdaq: EMDA), announced today that it will partner with COX Television to bring RTN programming to Atlanta, the nation's 8th largest television market. The new affiliate will launch on a digital stream of WSB- TV in January.

WSB-TV is COX Television's flagship station that serves as the ABC affiliate in Atlanta. The station, which is the oldest television station in Georgia, began broadcasting in 1948 and is one of the premier ABC affiliates in the nation.

"WSB-TV is a market leader in Atlanta and we are thrilled to partner with Cox's flagship station," said Mark Dvornik, Executive Vice President of RTN. "Viewers in Atlanta will soon enjoy RTN's 'Primetime All The Time' line-up, including Matlock, Hawaii 5-0, Magnum P.I., Mission: Impossible, Love American Style, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and Love, American Style."

"We have looked hard at different options that are out there to get us going with a subchannel and we think this programming line-up is totally family-friendly and combines many of the real classics that have entertained generations of television viewers," said Bill Hoffman, General Manager of WSB- TV. "Good programs are timeless and this is a wonderful collection of shows that are just that."

RTN is a new television network that provides each affiliate a customized feed with classic hit shows, in addition to local programming including news, weather and sports. RTN is specifically designed to go on a broadcast digital channel and provides local broadcasters a way to get ratings and successfully monetize their digital spectrum.

WSB-TV was the second to last to be added to Comcast's HD lineup (WUPA was the last).

I wonder if WSB-TV will add a 10 PM newscast to this new channel?

RTN shows some really great stuff. Hogan's Heroes, Get Smart, I Love Lucy, Family Ties, Mission: Impossible, Honeymooners, Beverly Hillbillies, Brady Bunch, etc. Y'all won't be disappointed!

It is possible that we may never see RTN unless Comcast carries the subchannel. I am not going to go to the trouble to receive it over-the-air.

Is RTN still comming to WSB 2-2? I'm really looking forward to this as it looks like the lineup includes classic shows that I've not seen in years. I recieve my HD over the air with an antenna and have been eagerly checking WSB 2-2 every afternoon since January 1st!

Then 'we' essentially becomes 'you', right? ::) ???

Talked to a Comcast rep on Friday. It will be on Comcast on 2/1/08. Locally in Cherokee and Bartow county, it will be on channel 228.
