RTN coming to WMYT May 12

I sent a note to the network and the station asking what happened. I'll let you know if I get a response.

The network and WMYT hit a snag. They are still working on an agreement....it figures!

The good news is there are websites that are streaming classic TV shows and current shows. Maybe that's the answer?

I expected that. RTN is on Cox digital subchannels in almost all of their other TV cities. Mark my words, they'll end up on one of the COX stations in Charlotte, probably WAXN, since they don't have any subchannels yet (and RTN is on Cox's indies in San Francisco and Orlando).

64 would be fine with me. The digital signals of 46 and 55 and be a pain to pull in at times. 9 and 64 are strong since both transmitters are in Charlotte.

64 (DT-50) is fine if you live in East Charlotte, but with their 50kw signal, maybe not so great in other areas. Here in Fort Mill, 46 and 55 DT are rock solid, along with all other Charlotte DTs, except WTVI. WAXN also comes in fine, if I tweek my inside antenna just right--all the others are great no matter how my antenna is situated. BTW, it seems Charlotte is set for excellent DT reception (other than WTVI--What were they thinking). Despite what has been written elsewhere, Digital TV is real step forward, with improved reception and more channel selection for OTA viewers.

42 was originally going to go with 24 but that was too close to 23 (WBTV) to work. I know 22 is WCNC but you can get away with that if your transmitters are close to each other, which they are.

The advantage WTVI has with VHF 11 is it takes less power on VHF to create a viewable signal. I wish we were an 'All UHF" market, it would make receiving antennas smaller and easier to handle.

In east Charlotte with the new Zenith converter we can also see WCWG from the Greensboro market, even on an inside antenna. It usually comes in at night and early in the morning.

Out of the locals WMYT-DT is the most troublesome. WBTV-DT is so much better than their analog channel. You can't even see analog "3" without a an outdoor antenna.
