RTN (WSB-DT2) on Comcast 248

Retro Television Network (via WSB-DT2) will be on Comcast digital channel 248. There is a screen on there that says "Retro TV Network (RTN) Coming Soon".

I am on Comcast Canton in the Atlanta area. Channel 248 still does not come up.

Cartersville/Bartow County, Canton/Central Cherokee County (Southern Cherokee is on the Cobb headend), Cumming/Forsyth County, and Dallas/Hiram/Paulding County have different digital lineups from immediate Metro Atlanta (although everyone except for Dallas/Hiram/Paulding now shares a common analog lineup).

You will have to look around for it. Look for the channel that is not yet labeled (as of 5 AM today) and has the words "Retro TV Network (RTN) Coming Soon when you tune to it.

I have it on, 248 (the slate at least) on the N. Druid Hills headend.

Ok. I am now seeing a new channel 99 called "LEAD" with "No Data Available" on bottom of the screen on Comcast Canton. I finally found RTN on channel 228 in Comcast Canton. It is nestled between SFHD (227) and WSB HD (231).

LEAD = Leased Access. Comcast Atlanta's three are 22 (some areas), 26 (19 in ATL proper), and digital 150.

I suspect Comcast Canton/Cartersville/Cumming (old Adelphia) is using Scientific-Atlanta equipment, while Comcast Metro Atlanta is using Motorola equipment (thus the different digital lineups - Motorola boxes display "To Be Announced" while Scientic-Atlanta uses "No Data Available").

RTN is labeled as "WSBR" with program name "WSB Retro".

The channel should be labeled "RTN" instead, because "WSBR" is cryptic. But Comcast and WSB don't have a top notch relationship. (It took 2+ years to get WSB HD on. WSB has promoted their relationship with DirecTV, but never with Comcast. I suspect WSB-TV's retransmit consent agreement, if that is WSB's status, requires cable systems to add WSB's subchannels at their request, so Comcast will comply to prevent losing WSB-TV).

Instead of callsigns, Comcast labels WXIA-DT2 as "NBCW", WUVM-LP as "AZTEC" for Azetec America, WUVG-DT2 as "TELF" for Telefutura, WATL as "MYATL", WPXA as "ION" and WPBA as "PBA". If they don't follow strict callsign naming convention for all local stations, why not label RTN as RTN.

I would love to know whether WSB-TV has elected must carry or retransmit consent, and if so what are the terms. I also would like to know more about WSB's relationship (or lack thereof) with Comcast.

I could not have said it better myself!!!

I was wondering what LEAD meant.

I agree about the terms, I wonder about them.

I *think* the NFL brought an end to the team channels last year.

I'm 99.9% sure you're right about that. At any rate, to answer the previous poster's question, there was no Falcons network this season.
