Somehow it looks like Luken has done what Equity never dared to do at all...according to a Facebook posting on their official page, they've got an agreement to carry RTV in Milwaukee over WITI 6.2 beginning at the end of the month, going right at Weigel and MeTV, which airs on WBME full-power 49.
I have to admit I was pretty much going under the assumption that it wasn't going to happen at all, especially after the Equity hijinks of January, but somehow they've likely been able to pull a schedule that won't conflict with Weigel's programming rights. Of course they still have to chat with Time Warner about carriage, but they're planting their flag in a market where Weigel has long dominated the classic TV station with a station which has aired M*A*S*H for eleventy-kabillion years (not this year though, thanks to TMZ rerunning in the afternoons).
Can we expect them to try to make a run for Chicago somehow and try to compete with MeTV/MeToo, and the last big market they've been wanting to have?
