RTV Gone in Providence

WJAR officially launched ME-TV this morning 9/26.I beleve there were a couple of other stations in New England where ME debuted. Not sure of the other station.

Ever since RTV lost the Universal library back in June, this channel has been really hurting. Many of the shows that were on RTV are now on MeTV. I'm very pleased with the new lineup on WJAR 10.2 (MeTV). Their overall presentation (bumpers, promos and whatnot) looks sharp and well executed. The late night detective block with "Perry Mason" and "The Untouchables" are great to watch. I think Luken has a lot of work ahead to get RTV back up-to-snuff. They've already lost WJAR. I don't think that they want to lose Boston (WMFP) or any other major markets.

I must say that I love watching MeTV on WJAR 10.2 and will be watching it on WMUR 9.2 up in New Hampshire as well. Think they need to get a Boston affiliate on-line soon. Hopefully WCVB 5.2 or someone else will fire up MeTV in Boston soon.

The very fact that CHEERS is on at 10pm makes this an excellent change. I used to watch the news at 10, now I watch CHEERS. I go to bed much happier.
