RTV rediscovered

WKFK channel 7 is a low power in Pascagoula, MS . Try WKFK.com. It streams RTV part of the time and various other programming.

That was a low blow..I dont watch as much as I'd like but I do enjoy Dragnet and Adam 12, along with Jack Benny and Ellery Queen..There are plenty of viewers..

What do you have against Classic Television?

I have nothing against "Classic" television. I l-o-v-e Classic Television. I was a huge fan of TVLand in it's prime. That's precisely why RTV annoys me.

1) For the most part, their schedule is filled with marginal shows that either were only mediocre in their heyday or do not hold up well over time. ( eg:"Airwolf"?? "Banchek"?? etc)

2) The prints of the shows are sub-par.

3) Their branding is sub-par. And virtually no promotional annoucements or promos encouraging tune-ins. Instead we get:

4) A steady stream of lawyer commercials urging you to take action if you've taken Reglane or this, that or the other. And how to "avoid paying taxes that you owe" commercials....etc.

5) The fact that they tend to run just a handful of episodes of a particular show over and over and over. The same ones. Jack Benny is a good example of this.

6)They insert the commercials at all the wrong breaks and sometimes don't even wait for a break. (Gotta' get those lawyer commercials in, ya know). A good example of this is Alfred Hitchcock where he made a point to disparage the up-coming commercial. That's where the commercial goes but instead we go straight to the next show element and it makes his comments ridiculous.

And that is why I think RTV must not have any viewers.
If you've got some numbers showing them registering somewhere in the ratings, I would truly love to see them! I don't mean to be snarky or mean, I just wish they would get their act together and I would be one of their avid fans!

I awaited the debut of RTV anxiously two years ago.....then was severely disappointed for many of the reasons stated above.

I no longer bother to watch.

I'm not able to watch that often, and I'm not crazy about their evening schedule. Most of their better programs either are or used to be during the day. But from the quote above... the only time I've witnessed that complaint, are the times when they run "Night Gallery". Of the very few times that I've caught it airing, I've seen them run 1 particular episode with Arte Johnson 3 or 4 times!

I'm sure most people also know that the schedule, along with availability of programs, varies from market to market.

Did your RTV station run that hokey Chattanooga spot over a recent period of
a month or more? Something about getting your "Riverbend pins" at an area
convenience store chain?

Why it kept airing on KAZT Prescott/Phoenix I have no idea. ???
