RUMBA 1430AM AND 1200AM BLUES WEEKNIGHTS?

I was switching to another station last week and last night (Tuesday night February 17, 2009) I was listeening around 10pm at night. It sounds like some Blues Music. It sounds ok. I think the name of the show is called "Automatic Radio" I might listen again tonight. To me, it sounds like Blues

All in all (PartyBluesAndOldies) is the BEST!!!!!!!

It's mostly just one band playing, "Ernie & The Automatics", led by automobile dealer Ernie Boch, Jr. He bought out the entire program schedule of WXKS 1430 AM through March 2 just to promote his new CD by his blues/rock band. That's why it's called "Automatic Radio", because his band is "Ernie & The Automatics". He's also occasionally playing a few songs by other artists who he feels "inspired" his band.

He did not buy out time on WKOX 1200, which is still Rumba. WXKS 1430 will be returning to Rumba after Boch's buyout ends on March 2.

Nice to have money, eh? How many other small local club bands would love to buy out two whole weeks worth of airtime on a 5000 watt (days)/1000 watt (nights) station in a major market just to plug their new CD 24/7? I guess you can afford to do that when you're the biggest auto dealer in the greater Boston area.

But given the state of the car business these days, Boch is probably one of a very small number of car dealers who still have money at this point. The reason (or an important part of the reason) was immortalized in one of his father's most famous radio commercials: "We have no mahtgages!"

yeah yeah yeah, thank you very much @Eli, yeah yeah, so that's why, ok ok

Yes, it's good to have moneeeeeeee!!!

It does sound different. For me, it's different and ok to listen to, nothing to jump out of your seat over, it's something to make one of your eyebrow go up ;)
