Howard Stern will be 75 years old when his new contract ends. This will probably be the end stretch till retiring.

Cousin Brucie would be one of those, if he's still hosting on the 60's channel. I've wondered if Willie Nelson ever hosts on Willie's Roadhouse.Howard isn't the oldest on-air host at SiriusXM. There are several who are older.

I haven't subscribed to SiriusXM in years, so not up to date on the hosts or channels.Cousin Brucie left his Saturday night gig on 60s Gold back in 2020 and went back to his old stomping ground, WABC.

As a longtime fan of Howard and the show, I am more concerned about Robin's health. Rumors have circulated and I hope that Robin remains in remission and is healthy. But if something were to happen to her, it could have a devastating impact on Howard. He has said in the past that he could not continue the show without her.Howard turns 72 in early January. But he says he's healthy and enjoys what he's doing. He also told Sirius if the company wants to repurpose his studio at the headquarters in Manhattan, that's OK with him. He does the show either from his home in the Hamptons or from his home in West Palm Beach. The only exception is times when a major guest comes to Sirius that he wants to meet in person.
His new deal will mean fewer shows per year. Currently he does 100. He did not give details on what the new number will be. He says he'll tell us the new schedule in the new year.
It was clear from his December shows that he was planning to stay. He made no effort to do any retrospective as you'd expect if he were retiring. And let's remember Stern would lose his buzz if he retired. Let's face it, he wouldn't have Jimmy Fallon or George Stephanopoulos or others celebrities coming to his house or inviting him to do things. (Maybe Jimmy Kimmel would stay in touch since they really seem to be friends.) But there'd be no interviews with Springsteen or Jennifer Lopez or Hugh Jackman.
And when there was speculation this past summer that Stern would be leaving Sirius or Sirius wouldn't offer him a new contract, that he had lost his ratings and his popularity, it really energized him to prove he was still in demand. (I still can't believe a tabloid reporter would publish the silly things that were circulating, which then got picked up by the legitimate press.)
When Andy Cohen played along with the hoax that Sirius had gotten rid of Stern and that Andy would be taking over, it sent Sirius stock down for a short time until the hoax was revealed. It generated news stories in many publications. And it proved Stern was still an asset to the company, regardless of his price tag.
Howard has been very cryptic when talking about her lately. I don’t think her cancer has returned but she is going through treatment. As a longtime fan of Howard and the show, I am more concerned about Robin's health. Does he actually host it, or does it just bear his name? I tune in once in awhile but I've never heard him speak.Willie Nelson is 94 and still hosts Willie's Roadhouse.

I've never heard him on air, either. He just lends his name to the channel and gets a couple of his songs played every hour, as far as I can tell. Cushy deal!Does he actually host it, or does it just bear his name? I tune in once in awhile but I've never heard him speak.

He’ll have even more time to paint!Sounds like a Rachel Maddow type deal. One show per week plus special events. Lots of time leftover for side projects.
He stopped painting to play guitar. He’ll have even more time to paint!
Is he any good at guitar? His paintings looked good to me.He stopped painting to play guitar.
He’s decent for how short a time he’s been playing. Is he any good at guitar? His paintings looked good to me.
Cool, is he self taught or taking lessons? He’s decent for how short a time he’s been playing.
